How to Stay Fit and Healthy when you're Travelling and On the Go with @theflyingfitfoodie

@theflyingfitfoodie and her tips to travel healthy and travel happy! ✈️😊 "So far, this year alone I have 🏃🏻‍♀️ over 200 miles, driven over 10,000 miles, and flown over 220,000 miles. Needless to say, I get around. As a flight attendant I travel a lot for work, I also love to stay fit and active meaning my on-the-go nutrition needs to be on-point if I am to sustain the energy I need to stay on the ball. Not just for working out but also to be the best I can be at 38,000 feet and give me energy to explore new cities. Exploring, I believe is best done on foot. Running is a great way to see a new location and enjoy some fresh air, especially before or after a flight - it is one of my favourite things to do when I am away. I love to use Free Soul's vegan protein as my light, pre and post running fuel. When mixed with water or mylk it's light enough to provide me with enough energy, minus the stitch. To me, Free Soul's protein is the perfect way to get the essential nutrients I need when I am away from home. There are not many plant-based protein supplements that taste great simply mixed with water - in fact I'm yet to find another that tastes this good, hands down. For me, this is vital, as living out of a suitcase 90% of the time I definitely don't have access to frozen 🍌 and nut mylks, let alone can I fit a blender in my suitcase! My friends, family and passengers can also benefit from my increased energy levels and good mood, which comes courtesy of Free Soul's specially formulated blend, designed for us women. Maca is one of the natural mood enhancers that can be found in their ingredients list, which can really help me out on those 14-hour long flights when my energy levels are running low, along with my oxygen levels. That's why I never travel without it! And before you even ask, no I can't get you an upgrade! Unless of course, you happen to have brought with you some Free Soul protein in your hand luggage". 🙌 . #FreeSoulSistas

This year alone, Sophie Jones has run over 200 miles, driven over 10,000 miles, and flown over 220,000 miles. Now, that's one busy woman.

Not only is she a flight attendant, she's also an avid runner, a yogi, a fitness junkie and a Free Soul Sista.

So, we had to ask her how she manages optimum health, fitness, and nutrition whilst balancing the demands of her job, which mainly consists of traveling and being up in the air!

Staying active

Especially with a hectic schedule, it's important to find time to stay fit and active. And often, many of us find it hard to find the time to do so.

So, what's the solution?

The easiest way to add a workout to a busy schedule is by doing a workout you love and enjoy. Couple your workout with a passion, and it will hardly feel like work at all. Sophie loves exploring the outdoors and believes that it's best done on foot. And as someone who loves running, why not do both for a way to get the workout in?

She says that "running is a great way to see a new location and enjoy some fresh air, especially before or after a flight - it is one of my favourite things to do when I am away."

Or if you prefer indoor workouts in the closest gym you can find, some of her recommendations to boost your motivation is to:

1. Plan your workout beforehand so you have a clear picture of what you're doing there
2. Play your favourite music to get in the zone
3. Partner up with someone to workout with!

Staying fit and active also means that her on-the-go nutrition needs to be on-point. In order to stay on the ball - not just for exercise, but also to be the best she can be at her job at 38,000 feet AND fuel her love for exploring the new cities her job takes her to, she needs to sustain her energy levels.

How does she do it?

She says, "I love to use Free Soul's Vegan Protein as my light, pre- and post-running fuel. When mixed with water or mylk it's light enough to provide me with enough energy, minus the stitch."

"To me, Free Soul's protein is the perfect way to get the essential nutrients I need when I am away from home. There are not many plant-based protein supplements that taste great simply mixed with water – in fact, I'm yet to find another that tastes this good."

As she lives out of a suitcase 90% of the time, I'd imagine having access to an abundance of smoothie ingredients can be tough, let alone lugging a blender around with her!

This is how helpful and convenient protein powders and protein shakes can be for people on the move.

And also, when you love the taste of your protein shake, you're more likely going to stick with it and incorporate it into your daily routine! Which also means you're more likely to see the positive impact it will have on your body, which your body will certainly thank you for.

Maca and mood

And it's even better when the protein you choose is specifically formulated for your body. Sophie can vouch for this!

She says, "my friends, family, and passengers can also benefit from my increased energy levels and good mood, which comes courtesy of Free Soul's specially formulated blend, designed for us women."

"Maca is one of the natural mood enhancers that can be found in their ingredients list, which can really help me out on those 14-hour long flights when my energy levels are running low, along with my oxygen levels. That's why I never travel without it!"

Lessons from Sophie

When you lead a busy lifestyle, and if you're traveling a lot for your job, much like Sophie, optimum nutrition may be a challenge. Protein shakes are a convenient and easy way to enable you to meet and/or to increase your daily protein intake.

Maintain optimum nutrition and a healthy, and balanced lifestyle by doing what you love.
